This notice describes how BuddysCo uses information in its study-group app and website. Contact admin@buddysco.com with privacy questions or requests. This notice does not replace the separate policies of services you choose to use, such as Google Meet, Zoom or an AI assistant provider.
Group members can see information shared in their groups. Other people may keep copies, screenshots or messages outside BuddysCo; deleting an account cannot erase their independent copies. Avoid submitting sensitive information that is unnecessary for studying or resolving a support request.
We use information to provide sign-in, matching, groups, collaboration, notifications, task management, diagnostics and abuse prevention. Firebase/Google Cloud and other service providers process information needed to operate these features. Information may also be disclosed when legally required. We do not sell personal information.
Information may be processed outside your country. Applicable rights and protections depend on your location and the services involved. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your information.
At launch, group creators can attach an existing Google Meet or Zoom link. Automatic provider setup is available only in environments where that provider connection has been configured and approved. When automatic setup is available and a group creator connects a provider, BuddysCo requests permission to create that group’s meeting room. The current integration uses Google’s meetings.space.created scope or Zoom’s meeting:write:meeting scope. Provider OAuth access is used for that creation; BuddysCo does not retain the resulting access or refresh tokens for ongoing access. The app stores the shared room link and associated provider/creator metadata so group members can return to the room.
Joining opens the provider’s app or website. Google or Zoom processes the meeting under its own terms and privacy policy, including any recording or transcription options used there. A room link can remain usable by someone who copied it before leaving a group; the room owner should change or remove the provider room when access needs to end.
Assistant access is off until you enable it. An enabled integration can read the assigned tasks allowed by your account and prepare supported personal-task changes. Writes require a confirmation flow. You can turn off assistant access or revoke a connection in BuddysCo.
Task names, dates and other returned task details can be sent to the assistant you connect. That provider’s handling of conversation history and copies is separate from BuddysCo. Disabling access or deleting your BuddysCo account does not delete conversations or data already held by another provider.
Use the secure account-deletion page or the app’s deletion flow to authenticate and explicitly confirm a request. If you cannot sign in, contact admin@buddysco.com for a verified ownership request. Never send passwords, SMS codes, identity documents or access tokens by email.
Deletion removes the active app account and personal profile/settings, private tasks, drafts and attempts, assistant grants/plans, private focus history and identifiable account-owned uploads. Authored notes, quizzes and templates are removed. Account membership, assigned-user entries and personal progress are removed from shared structures. Authored chat messages become content-free placeholders; creator-owned task/project text is replaced with neutral placeholders where necessary to preserve other members’ work. Shared groups, project structure and other people’s contributions remain.
Other people’s safety reports may remain with structured account identity removed. We do not search or rewrite every reference that another person has typed in free text. Shared aggregate focus totals, minimal deletion/access-denial records and opaque security or deduplication receipts can remain. Older uploads without reliable ownership information need a verified support request; we do not guess ownership.
Deleting BuddysCo removes account-owned room links from the app. It does not delete a Google or Zoom account or a provider-hosted meeting; manage those directly with the provider.
Deletion processing is resumable and may take time. Acceptance of a request is different from completed removal from active BuddysCo systems. Storage soft-delete/version retention, backups and service logs follow their separate retention processes; completed deletion from active systems does not mean every provider-managed retained copy disappears immediately. We do not promise a fixed completion time. Contact support if you need help understanding a request’s status.
The website may use cookies or similar technology for functionality and analytics. The standalone account-deletion page does not load the site’s analytics. It uses Firebase authentication and, for phone sign-in, Google reCAPTCHA. Its sign-in session is held in memory and is cleared when the page is refreshed or closed; provider security mechanisms may have their own browser storage or cookies.
If phone verification creates a sign-in record for a number with no existing account, the deletion page attempts to remove that new verification-only record and sign out. It does not submit an app-data deletion request for that record. If cleanup cannot be confirmed, the page offers a guarded retry or support contact.
We use access controls and authenticated operations to protect app data, but no service can guarantee complete security. BuddysCo is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child’s information has been provided to the service, contact us for help with removal.
We may update this notice as features or practices change. The date above identifies this version. For privacy rights, account-deletion help or other questions, email admin@buddysco.com or visit Support.
